TCA Aircraft Testing Department. Jet/ turboprop/ large prop aircraft test report: Date of Report: Tested by: Philip M Wafer TCA #2302 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SECTION A: (Original FSFS aircraft details.) a) Aircraft name: TCA DC9 b) Aircraft registration: CN991SU c) Aircraft Filename: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SECTION B: (FS98 only aircraft file details.) a) Aircraft name: b) File name: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SECTION C: (Criteria Tested) 1) Endurance (range)NM: 3450nm 2) Take-off distance(metres): 2600m Landing distance(metres): 1100m 3) Rotation speed (Vr)(KIAS): a) Educated guess: 170 b) Calculated: 182 * See Note 1 4) Climb: Best climb speed (KIAS/fpm):220/4000fpm to 10000 feet then 300/2500fpm to cruise altitude. 5) Overspeed clacker sounds at(at cruise altitude)Mach number or KIAS: M 0.84 6) Behavior under AP(OK/Not OK). a) Speed AP. OK b) Altitude AP. OK, but hunts a little. c) Heading AP. OK d) NAV1 AP. OK e) Back course AP. OK f) Approach AP. OK g) Autoland N/A 7) Speed @ 80% N1, FL310 (Mach number or KIAS). 0.84 mach 8) % N1 at recommended economic cruise speed: 77%=M0.82 9) Stall speed (KIAS). a) 100% fuel: Clean 160, Dirty 140 b) 30% fuel: Clean 142, Dirty 124 10) Approach speed at 30% fuel(KIAS): 157 KIAS 11) Turns AP ON - (OK/Not OK): a) Level turns. OK b) Climbing turns. OK c) Descending turns. OK 12) Turns AP OFF - (OK/Not OK): a) Level turns. OK b) Climbing turns. OK c) Descending turns. OK 13) Landing speed(KIAS): a) 30% fuel: 157 KIAS b) 15% fuel: 154 KIAS 14) Take-off with some engines out of service: Shut down No.1 engine at 160, slight push to port. Rotated ok but climb rate poor - 800fpm max. Otherwise it is easy enough to handle in the air and land again. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SECTION D: NOTES/COMMENTS: 1) Vr on real a/c is 145 KIAS, so the conversion is out by a good margin - 35 knots! 2) The aircraft feels like a "heavy"! 3) I used the DC9 v2 panel by D.Durst/M.Vidal during the testing. Lovely! 4) Anybody know if aircraft range is near correct??
